Polpeor Cliff - The Lizard

Posted by
Jules (Drayton, United Kingdom) on 27 October 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Looking west over Polpeor Cliffs and in the far distance on the horizon are faint outlines of the Isles of Scilly.

The Lizard (Cornish: An Lysardh) is a peninsula in Cornwall, and the most southerly point of the British mainland.

The Lizard lies within Cornwall's "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty". Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park.
