Divinity School 1/4

Posted by
Jules (Drayton, United Kingdom) on 16 October 2012 in Architecture and Portfolio.

The Divinity School, Oxford, is the oldest room in the Old Bodleian Library, the oldest teaching room specifically for lectures and discussions on theology and the first examination school of the University.

Built 1427–83, it is a masterpiece of English Gothic architecture in the Perpendicular style. The stunning and elaborate stone carved lierne vaulted ceiling and bosses, was designed by William Orchard in the 1480s.
