Oxford 2/11 - Hertford Bridge (Bridge of Sighs)

Posted by
Jules (Drayton, United Kingdom) on 19 February 2012 in Architecture and Portfolio.

The bridge links together the Old and New Quadrangles of Hertford College, and much of its current architecture was designed by Sir Thomas Jackson and was completed in 1914.

It is often referred to as the "Bridge of Sighs" because of its supposed similarity to the famous bridge in Venice.
