Quels yeux bleus tout grand ouvert avec la bonne glace, quel charmant portrait toute étonnée.

@Shaahin Bahremand: thanks
Clever selective desaturation revealing the gravity and intensity of her stare. She's a little girl but her eyes are truly impressive. Your daughter ?

Interesting selective colour, superb focus in this shot in order to use this technique, although because of this we seem to loose her while the technical side of the image takes over. Sorry just my impression.

Sorry Jules, selective colouring of the eyes is clichéd and overdone, the blue takes all of the attention. Yet there is so much more to see in this picture, if only my brain would allow me to see it, the perceptions are now larger than the reality.
I think I might have preferred to see this in straight forward colour, or even cross processed E6 to C41.

@Curly: I totally agree that selective colouring of the eyes (and in general) has been done so many times before and in the majority of cases has indeed become very boring & clichéd; I certainly have no intentions of trying to be original here. I am learning new skills and developing my understanding of various techniques and I make no apologies for trying to replicate any photographic styles.
You comment that "the blue takes all your attention" and to that end I believe I have then succeeded in this image - As the title suggests these are my memories of a summer and one such memory was watching the eyes light up as she tasted her first ice cream; therefore in producing this picture my sole aim was to draw the attention to her eyes. You may "want to see more" in this picture but that was not my memory and therefore to me, this is irrelevant. Thanks for your comments and feedback though.
it's so real and natural...
if I were you, since eyes are the first things in a photo that human brain order to look at them I won't risk to make them colorful but You did it and I like it maybe I have to change my idea somehow...
by the way she is so lovely and beautiful ...

The selective color makes the eyes become striking and unreal in the good sense of the term, and the B and W is superb.
Plus the bokeh with its excellent light.
